About the Buckley Annex

What is the Buckley Annex?
The Buckley Annex property is bounded by Monaco Parkway, First Avenue, Quebec Street and Bayaud Street. Established in the 1970s, the Buckley Annex contained the Denver Center of the Defense Finance and Accounting Services and the Air Reserve Personnel Center with some 3,000 employees. It was operated by Buckley Air Force Base; announced for closure in 2005 and completely vacated on September 15, 2011. The Buckley Annex is the last remaining parcel of land to be transferred by the Department of Defense to the Lowry Redevelopment Authority (LRA).

How big is it?
At 70 acres, the Buckley Annex is about the size of Cherry Creek North, from Steele Street to University Boulevard, First Avenue to Third Avenue. It is one of the largest urban infill sites in Denver.
